The University of Santiago de Compostela has more than five centuries of history during which it has become one of the best universities in the European Higher Education Area and a public institution that, with its teaching offer, its scientific production and its transfer of knowledge, contributes decisively to the economic, social and cultural development of Galician society and creates a space of citizenship that revolves around the values of freedom, equality, justice, pluralism and sustainability. The USC SFBB team work at the Department of English and German Studies, Faculty of Philology and they are all members of the research group Discourse and Identity (funded by the regional Government, ED431C 2019/01, Xunta de Galicia). Discourse and Identity is an interdisciplinary group which carries out teaching and research on Cultural Studies, History of the Anglophone Countries, Linguistics and Literature(s) in English.
